I've sat on the fence deciding so long as to whether to get booster pump or not and how much to spend. I have an hf5 4040what pressure do others achieve with a booster pump ?I currently get about 50 psi without. There are a lot of pumps out there, I know about the clarkes ones that gaps recommend but they are a bit pricey, is cheaper a false economy ?e.g. this onehttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/D-D-Booster-Pump-RO-Unit-/170675886194?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Fish&hash=item27bd135872or even this one rated at 80 psihttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REVERSE-OSMOSIS-BOOSTER-PUMP-/260774775888?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Fish&hash=item3cb7634c50whats the most important factors in choosing one , the psi, flow in ltrs per min ?I'm confused and dont want to spend more than I have to thanksSimon
thankyou for the reply mike, I thought as much but wanted to ask here to be sure. The pump your'e using from machine mart seems a better priced option than the one gaps and others have suggested beforehttp://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/cbm240-1in-multi-stage-water-pump/path/booster-centrifugal-pumpsdoes the max lpm alter the pressure I could expect by much ? the one I link to above is 101 lpm whilst the one you have is 61 lpm.thanksSimon
sorry mike think I've confused you now, this link(I've ruled out the previous ebay offerings)http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/cbm240-1in-multi-stage-water-pump/path/booster-centrifugal-pumpsis a higher spec than yours, almost twice the price with 101 lpm compared to your 61 lpm and was recommended by gaps for the hf5 however I've dithered over buying it because I was put off by the price. The one you are suggesting is within my budget and I have a machine mart at the bottom of my street. If I knew what pressure you were running before fitting the booster pump it may help me in my descision? Thanks Simon
http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/cbm240-1in-multi-stage-water-pump/path/booster-centrifugal-pumpsI have this one with my h5 40 x 40, and it pushes the water trough at over 110psi as the needle on my gauges on go that far.Roy
