Think you will find its probably not eczema. More than likely dermatitis.Through the use of the various chemicals we use.Detergents, lime scale remover, pvc cleaner etc.

My hands break out in now & then, dry, cracked skin etc.

I was recommended this stuff & after a few days use it clears up totally.

I tried that and i didn't work for me.

If I were you I'd try and work out which liquid it is thats messing up your hands. Fairy is what stuffs mine up so as long as I avoid that my hands are ok.

I've suffered badly with this in the past.

You need a HYDROCORTISONE cream/ointment.  Boots sell it; you have to ask for it.  It's a weak one.  For a stronger one, see your GP.

And you have to keep your hands moisturised with a good quality perfume free moisturiser; the one with the Danish flag on it (can't remember the name) is good.

Also, if your hands get to the 'falling to bits' stage, get four pairs of cotton glove liners (from boots) and some extra large black marigolds; and put a permanent barrier between your skin and the soap.

I found my skin toughened up over the years; but in the first two years my hands were really bad; like claws at one stage.

can recommend Neutrogena multi repair cream its for dry and irritated skin - also suitable for dermatitis and eczema. I used it all through the winter and I used it on the patches of dermatitis I get as well ;D

That'll be Lurpack then.

I had this really bad at one time and even considered selling up. The thing which cured it for me was tough black rubber gloves with cotton glove liners. My hands have been a lot better since ive been WFP but they do gradually get bad again and I have to use the gloves again untill their better. I have eczema any way and I would recomend trying to limmit the use of steriod creams such as hydrocortisone by preventing the problem in the first place. The creams will thin your skin in the long term.

I use Fairy, and I swear it keeps my hands in good nick.
