Derek,
It's not that I don't like videos, in fact we were using video marketing 20 years ago. We got a professional shot video with pro voice over that was aimed at the night club / pub market. (they were big back then) and it did well because it was aimed at that single market.
The problem with having a video on your website is that everyone thinks it is essential to show people how you're going to clean their carpet because they think that is what they want to see, which is true, but only to a point. Most videos I've seen show domestic carpet being cleaned, so what if your a commercial custome, or you're looking for your leather suite to be cleaned? To me, a good video shows the prospective customer all of the services you offer. I notice you do leather cleaning, hard floor cleaning, flood restoration, upholstery cleaning, but you only mention carpet cleaning.
If it is important to show potential carpet cleaning customers what they are going to get then why not potential upholstery, hard floor, flood restoration customers?
I'm no expert in these matters but doesn't it make sense to get as many people as possible interested in the full range of services you offer and have a video that achieves that?
You did ask.
