I understand what you are saying creighton and what's the harm in it if it's free.
You have something that's structured and can ask questions whereas on the internet you have to figure it out yourself and when you don't get something it takes longer to figure it out. However the advantages online are you can do it whenever you can fit it in and you are not learning something that may already be obsolete.
Of course you can learn stuff online that's obsolete but you soon figure out how to differentiate and from then on you are always ahead of the game.
And the other approach, the one that most non carpet cleaning businesses tend to do is focus on the marketing and the cleaning and delegate all the techie stuff to someone else who has spent all those hours learning and will apply even more hours to your web marketing.
I'm amazed how many carpet cleaners have the time or the inclination to go down this route. I suspect it's because it's far more palatable than pushing leaflets through letterboxes.
