Hi Rob,

The reason was that Liverpool was full by the time we rang you. Manchester was the next logical location. Hope you all have an informative time on the course. Let us know what you think.

I'm just curious but why do you feel the need to attend a course to learn to clean windows; can't you clean them at the moment??

I've been doing it for more than 20 years and have never been on a course; just learnt as I went so to speak.

Is there really any point in this; am I missing out on something???

Hi mls,

The course itself isnt designed to teach you "how to clean windows". The course is aimed towards the risk assessing, hazard spotting and health and safety aspect of it. The fact you have been in the industry for 20 years means you have an excellent grasp on how to do it, the qualification of "City and Guilds QCF Level 2" is more of a proof of competency.

The City and Guilds course is the only formally recognised qualification within the industry. It is a great certificate to have on your business CV because if you are looking to move your business forward and progress to more commercial side, like I said before it is proof of competency.

Also, while the funding is still available (till the end of April) we also include a working at height certification, which even for the WFP guys it is great to have.

If you guys have any questions at all, please dont hesitate to call me on 01205 316683.

PS. Colin, fire me a call :)

Oh right; well that sounds pretty good actually.

So, how close to Plymouth do you come and when will the next course at this venue be held?

Many thanks.

PS...... We do an awful lot of commercial work and even the bigger clients have NEVER asked us for any formal qualifications. These include local authorities, schools, etc. Is it just a gimic??

We actually came to Plymouth not so long ago.

Also, the qualification is something that MORE and MORE commercial clients are in the process of looking at. I.e if you went for a tender against someone had very similar background but had a qualification to proove competency, who would you expect it to go to?

We will be looking at coming to Plymouth again in the near future, but we have Bristol, Brighton, Newcastle x2, Manchester, Southampton, Liverpool, Boston, Grimsby, Leicester and Reading.

Best of all, the course is potentially fully funded.

Potentially???

What criteria would have to be met for it to be fully funded???
