i had to too stop for two months too and was told to start again and am in the process of getting 4 more.

i dont believe they will go national has the manager have personal preference for the standards to be high has they get regular audits.

i speak regualr with the area manager who has not mentioned any thing.

also premier inn and travel inn are different what is a premier travel inn????

Whitbread who owned Travel Inn bought out Premier Lodge and rebranded them all Premier Travel Inn about 10 years ago although its since been shortened to Premier Inn

Its strange that we weren't asked to stop cleaning for 2 months over Christmas

I know a chap who works for initial and he reckons they got them all, they picked up the cleaning contract a few months ago and were asked to put a price in for windows as well and were told in January that they had got them

Spoke to the Manager on mine today (because of this thread - thank you).  She had an email end of last week to give notice to the WC and Gardener (She hadn't got around to doing anything with it).  I got her to check the email and have now been given notice (verbally, but awaiting letter from Manager) that our services will not be required after 30 May 2011.

Many thanks to OP for the heads up.

Maybe thats why they are going national, because the one I clean had there own people, then they got contractors in, who in turn have been replaced by Initial so maybe they just want one contractor to oversee everything

they do it for many reasons - mainly some slap up meal in a posh place and a bit of buttering up ....

big uk chains like the few pence saving! never mind the work done!

they save more money in offices - one big invoice, one payment = less hours spent on admin = less office staff

the premier inn hotel cleaners and housekeepers are employed but the pub cleaning can be done by contractors.
