I only do it when they are wet, and i usually use the same pole i wet them with. I have two methods of attack, one the dry brush approach and two the ..tie a dry cloth over my brush.

when you say the dry brush approach do you mean you try and dry them with brush and water off??

What do you tie around the brush when you use some thing to dry them with??  Towel or microfibre and any rag?

I try the dry brush first, you're only taking the drips off with any dirt in them and not really 'drying' them off as such, so yes just a dry brush with no water on. And yes if i need a cloth on the brush, i usually use an old cotton/poly t shirt. Microfibres are seldom big enough to wrap around, towel maybe to heavy. Just an old t shirt, anything just to take the drips away.

do you do this every time vents are wet or only when there's  alot of dripping and you're worried about dirty droplets on window?

Usually only if i can see that the drops are carrying dirt.

window frame vents - never.

soffits - very rarely if i get one that consistantly runs black after cleaning i leave it for a few mins a wipe over
with brush but with no water.

when you say 'never', I assume you mean you never dry them rather than never do them?

when i am doing gutters and soffits, if i get any dirty runs

i pop a  microfibre sleeve on a t bar ,put on pole

and just run it gently on the facias or soffits ,

quick and easy to do

yep agreed.  a few have said never ever ever wash frame vents or soffitt vents.  I will and if needed dry off.
