Mini scrubber extracta
« on: April 09, 2011, 12:24:00 pm »
Do you still need to agitate your prespray in when using the extracta scrubber, Or does the scrubber agitate for you ?
Thanks in advance for any replys.

When I used a 'Scrubba' I didn't even pre-spray, I just used Extracta's powdered carpet cleaner and got straight into it. I must say it always did a brilliant job but the reason I had to stop using my 'Deluxe, was because I started with a pretty painful RSI in the ball of my right foot... ???

I'm a 'Pre-spraying, agitating wander' now :D

Sorry to hyjack this post, But i just bought a mini scrubba. Colin how would you recomend using it now to get the best results, if you still had one that is. Would you prespray agitate then use, or presray then use, or just get at it with a chem in the tank?

Up untill now Ive only used a normal wand. Prespray agitate then extract.

Thanks

Rob

I was thinking back and if the carpets were really minging, I would pre-spray with that Extracta 'Lift Off", use the scrubba (dry) leave it for 10 minutes then rinse extract with the Scrubba. I'd have another Scrubba tomorrow because it is a good bit of kit!!!!

I agree with what Colin says.

In most cases just prespay, leave for dwell time then extract with scrubba.

On a minger you may use the scrubba without vacuum or solution to work in the the solution which will assist in breaking down the soiling. it. Perhaps even apply some more prespray before extraction. Waste of time cranking up the solution pressure as it doesn't really make any difference apart from emptying your tank faster.

I have one of each up for grabs.

Both old and well used. But they are indestructible. I prefer the mini. I got it first and always thought I was missing out by not having the next size up. But the mini is manoeuvrable like an upright vacuum cleaner whereas the deluxe isn't. I would have a mini over a deluxe any day of the week.

I've always been intrested in a powerhead attachment.

Does it generaly take a bit longer to clean a carpet using the Scrubba?

Quicker. But as with anything the key to productivty is being time efficient. So ignoring the pre vac part I would suggest.

First job get the prespray on early. While that is penetrating the soiling you can sort out machine/ pipes/ water etc. By the time you get on with the extraction it should have had long enough. On real mingers you may want to apply a little extra prespray while your setting up and agitate. I know some folks don't pre spray. Just cycling detergent through the wand. If your in that camp your never going to make any impact on the mingers.

How do you find it over a normal wand for speed and for results?

I don't think it makes much difference in time spent, but always quicker, but not as much difference as I thought, but on really bad carpets does a fantastic job, everytime, but would have bought a mini instead of my deluxe as it's such a big piece of kit.
