lol yep HG are good and the customer service is much better than 1&1.
Intresting test, and what you say about how Gs direction with local may well change my opinion in the future, not 100% sure though G actually know what direction they are taking, certainly don't think much about the new +1 feature.

They need a Zuckerberg hit squad.  8)
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

hi just noticed i can transfer my current domain to them think thats defo an option for me because this seo on my own has my head in bits lol cheers.

Dave,

Forgive me if I have misunderstood this but are you expecting 1 & 1 to promote your sites for you?

I used to be with them but I do not remember them doing this. They have a couple of free guides but it's pretty basic stuff.

I moved to HG because I use Wordpress a lot and 1 & 1 did not use C-Panel at that time.

HG = HostGator.com

I left 1 & 1 because they did not have C-Panel which makes it really easy to install Wordpress. I did not have a problem with the hosting itself.

As long as you have a .co.uk domain it doesnt matter where your site is hosted.
If you are .com you will run into issues

I have .com 's on american servers and have no issues with rankings. I also have .co.uk s on uk servers with lower rankings.
There are alot of factors to ranking and whilst this may be one there are ways of boosting a .com on an american servier. I use several ip 's in different part of the world and if you put the effort into seo then it will boost rankings.................
