how do you guys quote on commercial??

got a few jobs to quote and need a feel on how to price ?

What do you want to know?

Always in person for a start, not over the phone as its impossible to quote a commercial over the phone.

And if you need/want the work then go in cheap (especialy if its an office type setting) other wise you wont get the job.

Also, make sure you get the persons name who you are too see, and be early.

£2 - £2.50 sq mt  depending on the size of job and whether its LM or HWE

how do u price stairs?

erm take look at the stairs, have a think about how much you want for cleaning them, then open your mouth easy

I dont really measure anything or have set prices, just think about how long its going to take you, whats the access to hot water like, are you a bit skint that week, any parking issues? etc then just charge accordingly

Best to have a set price per mtr then next year when you hopefully do the job again, its the same price.
My prices are the same all the time no matter whether im busy or dead.

Jamie, a number of factors do have to be taken into account, first and formost what method will you be using?
I charge around a £1 per mtr for large open areas using cimex, upto £2.00 per mt for hwe with t/m but take into acount furniture, does it have to be moved or can you clean around work stations etc this makes a difference to your pricing.
What does puzzle me a bit is you say you have a number of commercial jobs to quote for!! have you not done commercial before? so how come the sudden influx of commercial to price ?

how much do you guys charge per stair? the job tomorrow is landings and stairwells how much for this roughly

gwrightson: reason being sir is that i have more front than Brighton and and the saying goes shy kids dont get sweets... so I went and asked for the jobs simples

As for the stairs, again commercial all vary vastly  ,often very open and much wider and normally just the tread is carpeted , my suggestion take a look, work out how long you thinkit would take you, work out what money per hour you reqire and this will give you some sort of answer, and if im hones t i do exactly that on 99per cent of my quotes no matter what i quoting for, very rare i measure the mtr.

Maybe work out how much you want out of the job jamie mean after you have paid out for a helper n cleaning gear etc.

Always good to get your first commercial job under your belt too and then gives you more confidence.

Might take you a bit longer than you think as you want to make a good job,thats what happened to me on my first big job
