this was the roof i did this morning, was a complete conny valet in the end, cos i forgot you can really do just the roof and get the sides dirty  

£40 3 hours work  : you live and you learn hey  

but the conny roof is quarterly (12 wkly) and the house is a £20 8 wkly too so it will pay off in the end! nice old couple too, doubt very much they will cancel anytime soon

£40!! mate your doing yourself out of money!

a complete valt for us is:

pvc on roof
the actual roof panels
the norm really dirty bit is the lip on the roof that goes into the gutter (hope that makes sense)
the gutter
then ground floor frames and glass - in & out.

if we did the above on this job (hard to see everything from pic) id say a rough price

= £10 per roof panel at that state

= £15 - £20 for gutter wiped (cant see the gutter tho)

= £30 - £40 for glass and frames in/out (again i cant see the glass)

so all in would of been say £80 - £100 for a complete valet.

then come down from there for just roof etc ....

sorry no after pic yet  i just wanted to get off from the job by the time i'd finished and this pic was from upstairs inside the house (abviously) and they were "yappers" so i thought i'd ask if i can go upstairs for an after pic next time, cos its a quarterly clean!

@wc solutions,  thanks yeah, i thought while i was doing it if this was a one off job i'd not fancy doing it for much less than £100! but that wouldnt include internals also im still biulding my round, if i was full up i'd charge a first clean price, but i wanted the job to test myself if that makes sense

i would of charged a min of £60 for the roof and id of cleaned the windows/outside gutters on the conservatory as part of the service.

it would takes about 90 mins from pulling up to driving away.


this is what i would of done.


ladders and stand off(so there not resting on the gutters)climb up and spray a strong mix of tfr/warm water with pressure sprayer(already mixed before i set off for work) 2 panels at a time.

while thats soaks in.get the wfp out(with stiff vikan sill on the end!)spray another 2 panels and wfp the first 2 while the other 2 soak in etc,etc until there all scrubbed and rinsed well.

then concentrate on the ends of the roof and outside gutters with just the wfp.finally finish with a good scrub and rinse of the conny windows!(job done!!).

time taken about 90 mins.

First thing i do is spray the finals & clean them. Then work around the pannels as Daz said

if it was a pitched conny roof with finials yes i would spray them first mate!

How much tfr do you use ?. whats the mix ?

  The way I would of done that roof would be, "sorry mate, don't do lean to roofs"

  I just find them a complete pain in the ass to clean up due to the lack of fall on them, I don't need the work so steer clear.

i usually place the stand off on the window frame or above it.anywhere its not leaning on the glass!sometimes its impossible though because of the angle the ladder with the stand off so i just lean it against the gutter.i try not to if i can though.
