Honesty really is the best policy.

I post here on thursday that i his a customers car while they were out.

Well, today the lady dropped the money off to my house for the worked carried out (she quite often does this instead of sending a cheque) and to quote "my husband has looked at the car and because you were so honest and telling us that you hit it, not to worry about paying for the repair"

It just goes to show that be honest (i could have driven off, but i would have felt guilty) is the best policy.

Thats not to say that every customer would have been as kind as this one, but it does give me a warm fuzzy feeling inside

 :)

It was a micra, it needed the bumper respraying, I think it costs anything from £100-£200 per panel theses days

When my old dad ever hit a stationary car and there were witnesses about, he would get out of the car and write a note to to put on the windscreen. . . . . He never put his details, just pretended to write them so he looked honest  :o

Lee,

It's always best to be honest these days, If you fell that guilty why not offer your customer
a few free cleans as a way of saying sorry or send a card etc.

they might of not been insured they probly thought  it will go  through insurance.

same here.i broke a big stone bird bath in a custies garden last week.the top just fell off and smashed and the whole thing just fell apart.custy was out so i was just about to post a letter to tell them not to worry about the money for the windows(or for the next few cleans)when he came home.

he said not to worry and paid me on the spot.he said the bird bath was over 10 years old and that his wife would be happy as it ll be a good excuse to buy and new one!! ;D ;D ;D
