Have you ran the brush in Tony?

20 mins on tarmac or concrete should help bed it in.

Nylon brush is usually better for carpet.

I'll also to change my posture etc

The way I was taught was...stand upright and have the handle adjusted so it is the same height as your 2 meat and veg.
Anything lower is bad back time, anything higher is hang on for your life. Both of these alternative positions have their usages but wait until you've mastered the proper position first. By mastered that means you can use it single handed and further on from that is just finger tip control.
Final tip: If you get to use pads wait until you've done several 'normal' carpets before tackling flotex ;D

I trust when you trying your machine you do have a damp carpet and a damp pad?

Just try rotary first on a hard floor with a pad. Make sure floor and pad are wet, and just get the knack of controlling the machine rather then it controlling you.
Do you understand how you move the machine about? - tilt forward to go right, tilt back to go left

I am ok with a rotary, have many years of experience using them on dirty kitchen floors during my 18 years as a chef.
I for one won't be using the stiff nylon brush on a carpet, neck still hurts where it nearly pulled my arm out it's socket.
Been spending some money before the next tax year, nice new lipped buckets from Restormate, some flea treatment stuff, and some velcro straps foc  ;D
Order from Prochem turned up on Friday, not sure what the hell they are playing at,I ordered some new nylon elbows for the in and out on the pump,as I thought it's fine having a spare pump, but what if I break an elbow trying to pull the pipes off,as there are pretty hard to get off, they sent me the wrong size ones, with a note on the back saying please send back as they are wrong, why the feck couldn't they put the right ones in,before sending it out to me ?
So I now have to pay to send them back !!!
Also got charged £20 for a brass female connector !!!   Biggest surprise was only £7 for a vac tank gasket !!

Not quiet senile yet Jim  ;)

For "others" that were reading the thread and maybe put off rotary work, due to the antics of the machine, it is still good advice to practice on a hard floor.

As for pads - I still use the ones I got with the Texatherm system I bought new about 6 years ago - just found an unopened box of 10 up in the loft (clearing out ready for house move hopefully next week)

Solutions do a scrub pad - well actually they do 2, a grey one for carpets and a black one for tiles. Think they are £35 each. I have both and they work well.
You will need a drive board though.

I have the grey one as well but it is rubbish at sticking to any drive board I have put it on, I have some dry fuson pads and they must be about 10 years old and they are brilliant probably like the tex pads.

Mark i use texatherm pads as found the quality superb and do last a long time as long as they are looked after.

They also dont shred or loose bits of fluff on the way too ;D
