Using a canvassing company
« on: March 14, 2011, 07:30:54 pm »
As I've posted a few times on here, I've been unfortunately incapable of buying work due to the actions of a very territorial and paranoid w/c. Even a custie of mine today told me he had been there trying to undermine me, told him he should be going with the w/c with 20years experience not me the newbie. Sorry pal, I'm new to the area but have 25 years experience!
Any how, it's March and I've only a tiny bit of work, too much time wasted chasing buying rounds, oh and a new baby too. I saw an advert today for a company who'll build a round for you. I've looked at their small website and I am tempted. Just wondered what dos and don'ts there are to using these guys. Also, has anyone heard of them, they're called Crystal Clear Total Solutions and the contact is Andrew Schofield.
I'm happy to pay a good reliable company.
Cheers...

I think you are better off door knocking yourself as that way the new customer gets to see you face to face and you save £s!!!!!!!!

just so happens i know the guy personally ... hes sound as a pound and what he says in advert regarding work built and vans etc are 100% true .. never bought any canvassed work off him but did buy some established work off him last year with no major problems ... what he offers seems fair in my opinion .. if i needed large amount of work then i would use him without hesitation .. give him a call  :)

I am using Andy at the moment, and so far so good, he has delivered everything that  has been said in the advert.

Thanks for the advice guys.
I've usually either bought work or canvassed myself, this seems a compromise worth a little more investigation.
Cheers,
Lloyd.

i've had a look and it seems very very expensive to me.

I believe its £2500 for £1000 worth of work.  That seems pricey to start off with.  Then they want paying before you do the cleans, so you're bound to loose a good proportion of the newly canvassed people to start with over the first couple of cleans.

That's before you even think about the problems of using clients canvassed by an outside company.  Even with the best will in the world, the canvassers will probably find it difficult to learn your terms of service, unless they have a proper amount of training in your specific service.

This means that getting the canvassers on your pricing structure will possibly be hard, and you'll only really know whats happened once you've cleaned the clients.  Remember it'll be in the individual door knockers interrest to sign up as many clients as possible, because they're working on commision.

I reckon once you've considered the natural loss of newly canvassed clients, you'll be looking at over £3000 for £1000 worth of work.

i'd love to be able to use a canvassing company, but feel there are a whole host of difficulties you'll get thru doing it.  :-\

Do it yourself.
Why not have 10k leaflets printed and delivered.probably cost you 350 you will get your 350 back in custies then door knock yourself and get the jobs at the prices you want and Target the areas you require.
That 1000 worth of work will come to you easy.if you lose any it doesn't matter.

They use your own terms of service, and you pay for regular customers not one offs. As someone else pointed out, doing it yourself is a free option as is leaflet dropping. Thinking about it aint an option though, you've got to do at least one of them if you want work !!!

£3000 is a lot for newly canvassed work.  if you do it yourself, or even hire your own canvassers it is a lot cheaper.

contracting out to a canvassing company would be ok so long as they can provide the right quality of customer, and that is where the risk is as far as i;m concerned.  but £2500 minimum to find out seems quite a risk.

it is definitely the most hassle free option on he face of it...  but it comes down to quality of customer they will get for you.

yup agreed is a lot cheaper (free) if u can do it yourself but seems to be a few guys on here who hate canvassing, i do my own canvassing as i enjoy it and still get a buzz when i get a new customer.
