sharing flyers
« on: March 14, 2011, 07:10:38 pm »

i was contacted a short time ago by a lady who i do know, asking ifi would be interested in letting her advertise on the back of my flyers, she has recently returned from a ausssie after 6 years living over there, she was setting up a domestic house cleaning /ironing service which she had done before emigrating, after some thought i agreed to go ahead with the idea letting her advertise on back of a5 /half page .i would pay for printing providing she came along delivering with me.

out today around a 1,000 put out, well i couldnt believe it by the time we had finished 3pm she had taken 3 calls custys wanting a weekly cleaning service, i just had 1 a few mins ago, so i asked myself the question, is thier a demand for domestic cleaning warranting 3 calls in such a short time ?

and does any one else share flyers ? i found it worked pretty well as i was getting free solus delivery, as my flyer would just have cost the same .

I don't know about regular weekly cleaning, but Ive has a few calls recently (only had one in previous 30 years, as far as I can remember) asking about whole house cleaning as well as carpets and upholstery.

My take on it is that many people 'say' they want cleaners but when it comes to a commitment and a price they shy away, had an old lady ask me if I knew anyone she said she wanted someone for one hour a fortnight, how can cleaners make it pay? and how much work could get done what needs doing for the 1 hour every 2 weeks?

To be realistic 2 hours a week at £10 an hour wouldn't make huge profit but the saving grace is that if it's on a contract then it could be worth it but some of the customers are fastidious when someone else is doing the cleaning Ian Harper may shed some light on this a bit more.

Not sure if he's on here or not, he's a great guy but lacks focus IMO.

Ian suddenly changed to Guest about three weeks ago.

I think it was due to the fact his pay per click adds kept getting clicked, due to his high profile
