Bust another spray lance !!
« on: March 08, 2011, 04:50:33 pm »
Current sprayer around 2 months old, however age is not relevant, took it out the van this morning, and there was a bend in the very thin brass tube, tried to straighten it,but obviously it snapped ,stopped and spent another £23 on one,on the way home, and have cut the old lance down, won't be breaking it now ..
Have quite a collection of sprayers now,got a couple more up the loft, the 3 in the pic I use,but have got quite a few as spares now...

Never had a problem with the IK9, never broke a lance
or anything apart from new seal in piston.

I've had one and a Tango one and none of then last, the best way would be to buy a Stinger from Nick it's costly but it'll last forever.

I find that sprayers knack up due to lack of care generally. Never over pressurise them and let the pressure off when you've finished spraying. The forces on the plastic parts when they are under pressure is quite substantial. Also leaving solution in them with solvent content for long periods doesn't help. Its the same with machine pumps. How many people flush through with clean water at the end of the last job. I don't know anyone who ever has.

Dropped one of my better ones under pressure,to say it went pop was an understatement.
The rubbish Contico ones, have a habit of popping off the hose, and spraying solution everywhere,as the hoses go all limp, after a bit of use, keep cutting the ends off,so it's tight again, but it does not take long before they go soft again, can't get a jubilee clip round it either, due to the design.

I have 2 Hudson's that broke within 6 months. If you pump too much with a hot solution, the plunger flange turns in-side-out. :o

Pay top dollar and you get top quality, surely I don't need to tell carpet cleaners that ;D

I find it anoying as none of the parts apear to be interchangable unless you are a skilled fix it kind of person, and can find interlinking bits

There was a link on one of the threads on here to an 18 litre electric sprayer.
Joe Hatton said he'd ordered one, anyone know which thread it was?
