1001 and vanish reactions (part b)
« on: February 24, 2011, 11:24:09 pm »
I am , and have been some time, been concerned about these particular products ability to ghost back as a dark mark ( presumably the residue) some weeks or months after the product has been applied. is this a reaction to HWE cleaning.

When identified, there is always a difficulty in rinsing the stain out , even when using fibre and fabric rinse, those foam bubbles keep on coming.

To a lesser extent products  such as  Stain Pro and Ashby's Green spotter do not rinse out easily and some residue is left in the carpet , which has sometimes has meant a return visit. Any advice would be welcome :)

In one particular supported living complex I service the the cleaners (until recently) where carrying vanish on their trolleys. if anyone thinks it useful I could probably obtain photos of these stains which are on light beige or cream coloured carpets

Regards
Eddie

Avoid using too much spotter. Most need a dwell time and the reason is to allow it a chance to break down a stain. Half or 1 full spray is normally enough. Light agitation with a soft brush, dwell, blot then blot again and rinse. Repeat. With existing soap problems dilute a little defoamer and apply to the stain or use a little powdered defoamer after a dust with some water (or dissolve it then apply) and rinse with cold water. Hot water will agitate the foam. You can use an acid rinse if you want but keep the temp right down. As a precaution pull some diluted defoamer through your hose so it will coat the bore and a dash in the recovery tank to protect the vacs.
