if all the stores are the same size with same number of windows why don't they just agree a frequency and rate at head office and inform the stores what it is.  seems easier to me?

I think it must be how to apply Fairy to a mophead, attach said mophead to pole, dunk in water and rub.

They are also training them on how to register for CIU forum (Non-Cleaning Related Topics) section, cos when they get sick of cleaning their own store in the bleak winter, they can get on here and have a good laugh ;D.

Or maybe how to heat a tank in the winter. :P

I got 3 Iceland stores, collected them today, nothing was said, will wait and see what happens in the coming weeks........Another one gone to a national, wont have many left at this rate ::)

5th march is when the staff take over,was talking to their inhouse cleaner todays,he's not best pleased as they have almost halved his hours down a week  :o

If its any help to any of you guys, I will ring head office tomorrow and find out whats going on, if you guys are cleaning them already?  I would have to put it across though as a united front??? I can find out whats going on with regards to price difference etc.  Just an offer thats all

I don't do any Iceland stores but that sounds a good idea kate. Only because I am a nosey sod and would like to know what is happening.

Even if they gave a price it would be hard to do much as only a small % of window cleaners use forums, so it would not be a united front really.

But go ahead, phone them anyway. Oh and by the way while you are on the phone ask them if they plan on getting licenses for their in house cleaners in Scotland?

I just need to know whos doing what where,

I need to go with facts and figures - or should I say an average if somebody is charging x and another person is charging Y thats fine, but Im going to ring and find out what the problem is - if its erratic charging and they dont tally up.  I need to find out what will suit them on a national basis

When an employee signs their employment contract this will include a detail of their remit, (job they are required to do). I doubt any of Iceland's employees would have cleaning the windows written into the remit. However, if they are not part of any union then they would have to fight this themselves. Most would just give in and go out and clean the windows to keep the peace and their job.
It's tough on commercial windies but high street retail shops are really struggling to make a decent profit
in this day and age. Supermarkets are slowly choking them all to death and we just have to look elsewhere to find work. This is just the way it is today and will only get worse and worse. So just go find some good rich residential if you are wise.
