Iceland Stores
« on: February 15, 2011, 06:17:30 pm »
Hi all

Anyone lost their Iceland store?  My mate lost his to-day, the manageress came out whilst he was finishing cleaning them, and was told each store were to clean their own windies from now on, and that the staff have to do it!!

There are buckets squeegees and telescopic poles on the way from head office for each and every store?

any thoughts on this?

ive just spoke to my mate whos wife works at iceland and the store she works in as allso got rid of there window cleaner , the reason they are now using in store cleaners IS NOT for cut backs .
she was telling me that most of the stores are designed the same with same amount of windows and the prices being charged by window cleaners as been looked at by head office , the price diffrence from store to store as made them decide to use in house cleaners .
the example she gave me was the store she works at was charged £35 for once a month , another store around 3 miles away was charged at £28 for being cleaned twice a month . both these stores have the same amount of windows .
where theres muck theres money

New manageress told me last week.
Can't see this going down too well with the staff, they have already had their hours cut,so cant see them being too pleased having to do their windows too.
It's getting worse by the day for commercial windies...........

Gav, Iceland went to a national for about 10 years between late 80's. I lost 2 of them then, but like I say it lasted about 10 years then the national got paid off, and the staff to go out and look for a bloke on the street with a soapy bucket, and its been like that up til'now >:(

We cleaned a couple of Iceland stores today and wasn't told anything about this; just got paid as normal.

Maybe we're just too good to get rid of ;D
