that software was on here a few months ago it belongs to aworka (tin cloud) http://aworka.com/
it looks like george systems has done a deal with aworka to put the brand on their product i don't think the software was designed/writen by george systems.

What happens if you can't get a mobile broadband signal on your phone/pda???

Can you still keep using it,. and it'll sync next time you get a signal?

Hi guys. I have been working with Paul to adapt Aworka for George users, to allow import of data, share ideas, etc.

In answer to points raised here...

Paul will continue to develop the much-loved desktop version of George, with George Online providing a alternative solution to those that want multiuser and/or smartphone access.

The initial smartphone version, which should be ready in a few weeks, will be quite basic and will require a permanent internet connection to work. I'm then planning to enhance it to work offline, storing data locally on the phone to be syncing back to the server as/when the internet is available.

I can see all software heading the way of the cloud eventually.  It's a lot more profitable for software providers.  I can't blame them really.  After all, would you go canvassing and only accept one off jobs?  :-)

 hi
chris cotterel is trialing it, i have logged in but not used it yet.

you will need a data connection, so strong 3g signal will be needed.

doesnt have the full george set up yet but its a work in progress.

i will trial it i think with a days work see how we get on.

 cheers

I've been using Aworka (George online) from the start, in fact it was Paul at George that put me in touch with Chris. I was very sceptical at first, in fact I deleted the free trail after two days, but after speaking with Chris who resolved the issues I had (ability to back up locally etc) continued with the trial and I'm glad I did. The web based app works really well, I have four vans on the road (same set up as Ian Lancaster) and each operator was able to use the app after 20-30 mins training. The ability to access the app via a dedicated Smartphone interface is good but basic. You can only see the current days work although you can access and select all jobs. You can also see and access all debts. It is not a substitute for the main app but a useful addition. I know Chris is keen to develop both items and I can invisage the Smartphone app being fully functional in the future. I found the free trial very useful but ultimately it was the support that Chris provided that sold it to me. Hope this helps. John

Hi chris.
I have got the free trial, and I am working on it at the moment.
I was going to suggest if you can do a video tuition so people can see I think is much better, wouldn’t you say?

Hi Bosh

Great idea to do video tutorials... I agree it would definitely be the best, quickest and easiest way to show how it all works and the best ways to do things. I'll sort something out soon.

In the meantime, please feel free to ask me any questions, etc.

Thanks for trying it!
Chris.
