so if i want to reply to a post from you do i post it as 'hi dawg' or 'hi carpet', it's just not right. if you were in a shop and the till-tart called you 'dawg', would that be ok?

colin, not afraid to use my real name!!!!

That would be cooool!  ;D

Fair enough but to be fair i sign the majorty of my posts with Tony at the end.

The annoying ones for me are the people that are clearly hiding behind a fake username!!  :( Remember that crazy guy that kept on banging on about LM and VVVVLM cleaning?

I agree with colin I prefer people to use their real names but can understand why some don;t ( my real name is'nt Mike)

Monty doesn't use his real name but does not try and hide his real identity, he has his website listed, the problem rises when someone gives advice on things like websiteS but because they don't want people to know who they are won't list their own or worse they criticize but won't let people respond

OH NO...... "That's not my website"

why happy mondays? why hector mildew? doesn't make sense to me, use your real names, makes it more real. i don't need help, you do if you hide your name,

colin

Colin, I like happy mondays as a user name it makes perfect sense to me, I have nothing to hide, I have met a few on here and shared a few beers with them, they know I am genuine.

but happy, there you go, YOU are happy to stay incognito but the rest of us have to wonder who you are. just a real name at the end of a post would be great, what's the problem? if you have met a few contributors in the past and had a beer or two and they know your name, what's the problem?

colin
ps don't want to know your lifes history, just the pleasantry of your real name.

Sorry Colin, but just a name means nothing really and websites can be fake.

Thats abit over the top Mike. No one on here with them user names. But at the end of the day the moderators allow it.

Common sense prevails... I had someone from on here contact me the other day by email and the first thing i did was tell them my real name. But it is not hard to find out that sort of stuff anyway. Websites can tell you all sorts of wonderfull things if you know where to look.

Regards

Monty_Rooney AKA (Mick)

so your real name is mickey rooney ;D

I have now changed my user name to my name at birth. Updated my location in my profile and even put our business logo as my avitar. Oh and my age is now in the profile, but not shown email to public as I have a query about that, http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=117973.0
