only my opinion but i like real names, when you sign in with mickey mouse names i think you have something to hide, i like to talk to someone with a real name, talking to someone with a hidden name gives me the creeps, what's to hide?

lots of people use different names for different reasons, and this thread was where a few of us gave the reasons for the use of these names (although it has turned out like crufts........... but I like doggies)

Its only a bit of fun Colin. This is the only forum i've been on where a large pecentage of the users use thier real names. I dont see it being a big deal.

I agree with colin I prefer people to use their real names but can understand why some don;t ( my real name is'nt Mike)

but the problem is some use alias to deceive other members, Monty doesn't use his real name but does not try and hide his real identity, he has his website listed, the problem rises when someone gives advice on things like websiteS but because they don't want people to know who they are won't list their own or worse they criticize but won't let people respond

Thats abit over the top Mike. No one on here with them user names. But at the end of the day the moderators allow it.

Common sense prevails... I had someone from on here contact me the other day by email and the first thing i did was tell them my real name. But it is not hard to find out that sort of stuff anyway. Websites can tell you all sorts of wonderfull things if you know where to look.
