To run a website its quite easy if you know what your doing. web name and hosting about £30-90 to have one built anything between £150 and £1000.....i designed my own have a look www.keepcleanleyland.co.uk. saved my self about £300 to have it done. Im trained as a web designer anyway.

I have a website and a domain name with 1and1.co.uk, cost's about £18 per year. they have lots of templates which you can change & adapt to suit your own needs, also, you can play about with them first and see how they work.
My advice is to look at other w/c websites & pick up ideas to build your own
and how you want it to look. You can also change it everyday at no extra cost
I'ts worth a look.
hope this helps.

If you go to WINDOWS LIVE you can build your own website for £20.
This is what I did and last 2 years. You can arrange/change/update
your website at any time and is great for keeping costs down.
At the end of the 2 years you just re-subscribe.Hope this helps

The vast majority of my work comes from websites,.. I rarely advertise elsewhere these days.
