Is it just me tony or am I not getting your post, can you explain what you mean, I have never used 123 but as far as I am aware you buy a domain name and hosting package and upload a website, whats the anal bit and what you decide to do mean

carpet-upholstery-cleaning.co.uk was my very first url and the other one i bought from woodman when he went down. i have spent time and money on both with back links on both. if you copy the page structure on the first one you will benfit from backlinks to deep pages that i always do on all my sites.

you will be able to get the page structure for clean-carpet.co.uk

this method is a great way to build backlinks with PR juice to your page. buy expired cleaning related domains with great PR juice at

http://www.registercompass.com/

then go to wayback site and copy the page structure and you should still get the PR if they are not really old. I have picked up sites that have only just expired that the owners just did not update their details and used them for my own purposes. sometimes leaving the old contact details on the site if the site did not really benefits me apart from the PR. just watch out as people get really P*** off but then they should be more careful with their management.

The compass site will give you all the info on backlinks and if they are live.

its about buying up domains that still have PR juice and then directing them to your site. With the option of also using them for you own benefit or make money from adsence.

people spend time building up backlinks from other sites that come from a page that does not have any PR juice and if it did would be divided between all the links on that page.

Not all backlinks should go to the main page and should have different link text and go to may pages on your site.

So when you buy the old domain if you put back the old site or replace the pages with new content but keep the sub page url you can benfit from the deep backlinks.

I hope that helps, please do say when you dont understand what i on about and i will try my best to explain. its hard sometimes when I understand the issue but cant explain it in a way that others will understand. sorry.

Just found a Guy who hosts a business show on local commercial radio who was doing low cost talks to business groups in 2009 on Social Networking sites and how to use them

Now he has built a name for himself I would imagine you have to pay guru prices which is no good as will go over my head

sometimes sites have this Page Rank but dont pass it on, they use no follow tags. when you buy old ones you control this

so the more sites pointing to your with high PR will tell google that your site is important and that it should rank it well.

Whats interesting these days its links from sites that are social that will super charge your site. The reason is google knows that what i have explained goes on and that any one person can do this and google has no way of know when its real or fake.

Now with social links they will have different Ips and there will a natural flow that is hard to fake.

Google knows when you add say 100 links one day and none for ages that they are fake. now if you get say a million thats different or say over a period of time.

So over time if you added one new site that has a great Page Rank a month that would look OK and over time it would be hard for someone else to rise about you.

Google now rates highly links from social sites. its not such and issue with PR as its real humans linking and google now knows this is more important than a big site with great PR

PR automatically drops down to "google does not rank current page" whent he "whois" changes.

i.e. the PageRank of that site does NOT get transfered over to the new owner.

Aged domians are good, but really need to be close to (or over) 10 years old atleast to get any true benefit.
But once a domian name has no website on it and google caches that page (like clean-carpet.co.uk) then again, pointless in terms of SEO benefit.

Soooo, the only true benefit here is the backlinks.

Text links ads.com, nothing new and a very costly way off gaining backlinks!

Derek, the cost of those domians are what ever your register will charge you. Namecheap for example will cost $8.88 for 2 years. all .co.uk domian names are for two year at a time.

have you looked at the compass site? it allows to to check the backlinks are still in place. This info is paid info from a top seo guy i have worked with. and also from experiences.

with respect it works.

as far as google knows the url is on a new server with new name servers.

I think you are both right on this.

What Tony says is usually the case but I remember seeing some webinar a couple of years ago when someone was saying what Ian is explaining.

The problem is that I did not have enough understanding of things then to take it in. unfortunately, I don't remember if there was a downloadable replay either. If I can find something, I'll post it.
