THATS it .. the secret is not the sellling... "Its the selling of how to sell" people make millions doing just that. Perhaps what we should be doing is not cleaning carpets, but selling the information how to clean a carpet.

youve either got it in you to sell yourself or you aint, you can't teach it, its one thing reading in a book that you have to go door knocking or stand on a roundabout naked, but for a sandwich board, but if you aint got the bottle then youve just waisted money buying a book. unless its free of course. ;D

Of course, but some people just need a kick up the arse :) to see he light so to speak. And you'll be suprised how many tips and tricks you can learn in these books.

The two books I mentioned made me see that enterprise was the way forward. That was 11 years ago when I was 17, even after a couple of months wild horses couldn't drag me back to being an employee!

Ian are you successful and are you where you want to be in life?

because I see these books in the same way I see  books on slimming written by a fat lard-arse...... if they worked he wouldn't be fat.

but don't take this as criticism, I have just counted my collection of these types of books... I have 22.... everything from I can make you rich by paul Mckenna to Unlimited Power by Anthony Robbins

I'm still looking for a book called....

how to read a motivational book and actually use the information to make a difference in my life and not just forget everything I've read 10 minutes after putting the book down

 I don't suppose you have that book do you? ;) ;) ;)

I have to laugh at your post Mick because I'm looking for that book aswell ;D

When you design an ad or web content or even talk to customers regarding the 'need and want' comes in to action, you need to give information so you can prime the customer to want to use you but I think most of this can't be learned from a book but more from the heart but where would we be without learning from books?

There you go another self explained reverse answer and question.

A bad workman blames his tools.

When you read  books like these what do you do, expect to read it and you suddenly spring into action?

When whoever has got Ian's books I can guarantee they will look pretty new. They won't have stuff underlined or highlighted, they won't have the pages falling out of Think and grow rich because it's been read ten times, it won't have notes in the paragraphs as reminders of how you could apply what you just read.

Reading gives you knowledge, the application of that knowledge makes the difference and that's what I guarantee is NOT happening. It's like people who watch all these cookery programmes and see them as entertainment and temporary escapism rather than something that is guiding you how TO DO SOMETHING.

Also 'born salesman' read fast talker who has a thick skin. There were plenty of numptyheads on the apprentice who were supposedly 'born salesman', professional sales people educate themselves just like anyone else who wants to be the top of their game.

It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

Yes, taking action is the main ingredent!  ::)

It seems to be in fashon to slag off these kinda self empowerment type products.

You cant expect the author to walk you hand in hand with a crystal clear blueprint. There are too many varibles with every situation to the people reading the books.

Read it for what it is, with and open mind, then read it again. and then TAKE ACTION! Its hard to do if you have your head up your own culo! no offence intended  ;D

I bought a Haynes manual for my car. Followed the instructions and tried to fire her up but it didn't work. These workshop manual books are rubbish and some of the steps didn't make sense either so I skipped it.  ;D

wHILE i AGREE WITH A LOT OF WHAT IS SAID THERE is no harm in gathering information

I am watching a guy at the moment and he says The person who buys his product is in real pain and is looking for solution.

Thats why they do half hour videos and 10 page sales letters because if you get to the end you are in real pain.
And the refunds will be less.

Tony Robins on one of his CDs says that only 5% of the people who buy will take any action

Well I certainly would not walk on fire

Most of the books in my collection are bent and cds have finger prints and usually have one missing in the set
