I am real , I  do not put my surname on forums , ex mrs spies too much .

Anyone may be able to find my real surname via my facebook group for work

How do you get the link that only goes to your work page Jason ?

I set up a work page,but when i copy the link in the top bar,it just goes to my personal page,then leaves the other part of the link,for the work page dormant ?

What you are describing sounds about right.

You should only have one FB account, see their TOS. Then you create a page from that account.

I see a lot of people who mix and match the two. Although there are no rules, personally I think this is a mistake, keep your business and personal life separate.

Same here,will just keep that page then,for people i know,really don`t want potential customers seeing the crap I post on F,book  ;D

I have my personal account , then My work one is a page I use for Facebook ad campaigns .  I have only done one , but I could not work out how to target the people I want properly , and I could not get the content how I wanted it , or think of regular interesting content.

I set up an account 3 days ago, no friends added as yet  :'(
there was a list of people i might know, some family, some local
and about 30 others off the various forums, list was quite long.

How do they know all this ?
Do you just add customers and keep friends seperate ?
Mine is Andrew Briscoe Cleaning,
just have my contact details and pic of new Maxx 470  ;D

Do you let customers know your details, add them, so they can contact you,
keep them informed of offers etc.

I'm sure Facebook is going to be fantastic for carpet cleaners, however it's the one thing that you really can screw up and you only get one chance.

Say if you read about something you can do to get custies and Facebook doesn't like it they will close your FB account down. That means you won't be on FB at all!

I suspect when this starts happening more and everybody is on it there, there will be people going to the court of human rights saying it violates their civil liberties. ;D

Facebook can be quite good if you have a business page and you want to do some cheap pay per click advertisng. The charge something like 20p to 30p per click.

We have a business page that is seperate to my own profile and we have advertised at that kind of rate per click.  The advert has been shown something like 2,000 times in a week and whilst the number of clicks is low, 20 up to now its still been shown 2,000 times for  £5.50 ish.  Thats not a bad price to pay for name awareness.  Our problem is we are targeting people in business, you could just target anyone is a particular area, your audience is much wider.

Guys

many reasons why people use us but i have asked lots of people and they have commented that a image says a lot. facebook helps that by installing a widget on your site it allows people to get to know you before they meet you.

I am always going on about USP but you cant get a better one than with facebook. Plus if you link it to a facebook group then you can split business talk with family. what do you think your family think when all your updates are about work? I have done this in the past myself and it looks bad. just think if you where at a family party and you went on all night about work?

I like to see an cleanitup group page, then we all can link our facebook group pages in this which in turn will have links to our sites. all good news as far as google. come on admin it will help keep cleanitup costs down as more people will find the group.
