when you say drill is wired up to pump battery, do you mean the cordless battery charger is wired up to it, or the actual drill is? If so how do you do this?

Fastest setup IMO would include:

Hot water
High flow rate (Not crazy high, but 2 litres per minute or a little more is what I use)
Choose the brush that best suits the job,.. no one tool is perfect.
LIGHTWEIGHT poles
Fixed reels & electric rewind (Something I still have to work on myself)
A compact round

the actual drill is wired to the battery, you need a good make 18v drill, i have used cheaper ones but the motors start to smoke, take the batterys out if the battery pack, then solder wires onto the positive and negative wires in the battery pack then connect it up to the battery in the van, load of power and it never runs out. I would recommend a drill with 2 speeds and select the slower speed, and a drill with a variable speed trigger then you have more control over it.

sound good lee, Think i might have a play around with that in the new year, I am surprised there is enough power in the drills to wind the reel in, It takes some arm muscle at times when reeling in around corners etc.

i thought the same, after testing a couple of drills that i had i realised that it would manage ok, if you do connect one up to you battery make sure that you use thick enough cable otherwise thin cable will cut down the voltage to the drill and the drill wont run with enough power. I got a secondhand Erbauer 18v combi drill off ebay for £30, and it has been great.

Have a look on youtube, there are videos of poeple running drills off of car batterys

make sure its a good drill though, i used a wicks or b&q own brand first and the motor get really how and started to smoke, so i got the Erbauer, and its been fine.

hi lee

this might sound stupid, but do u put the reel back throught the hole every time, or does it sit there when u are driving,?

i do put it through the hole most times, when i have a distance to drive between jobs, but it only takes 2 seconds and i have to go to the back of the van to get the pole out so its no issue really

Lee does your heater keep the reels from freezing when they are in the van?

it probably would sit just outside of the van whilst driving, but as i use a drill to wind the hose up it would be very hard to stop the drill at just the right time to stop the hose coming in
