Rich, shows just how naive you are! calor gas fires are safer now than they were before!
They were modified as they were so many exploding!

Calor gas fires were the cost of a lot of house fires thats why they were modified

If i were you i would move the bottle to the other side of the van away from the heater!

Am only thinking of your saftey!

Thanks for you concern James , much appreciated , but like stu mac said it will be getting moved , when a new pipe is purchased , take a look at my previous post , i mentioned a concern in that , but this was my only option at the time .

I'm not being funny here, but would be be ok to heat the gas bottle a little to get more gas out of it when it gets cold and is running low?

Not really no.  I mean, you could put one of those brew belts around it to warm it up just enough maybe?  As it gets less gas inside, this should help it get out.

I used to use gas in a job I did years ago, we used to stand the gas bottle in hot water to get more "life" out of it.

Now where can you get hot water whilst out at work?  ;D
