I chucked a kettle of water on the path this morning took my lad to college, and by the time I'd got back it had frozen solid and it's stayed that way  ::)
I won't be working until things improve as I don't want my customers slipping and breaking their necks.

started at 8.45 with a load of old peoples ganny flats, trad the lot of then, trad wardens house as well.

then went to two house to wfp @11 and had me back pack water when all the sudden i had a wet ass, pipe came away from pump.trow that in the back of the van.

trolley came out and worked fine until  i get given a tea, went to start again and that freezed up.so back to ladders for the next 4 houses..then home for 1.30 to fix backpack.

the water is still cold in the tank and you gotta get it through the pump & into the heater!

Thats what radiators are for. Or green-house heaters. Of course you could use a hairdryer. Maybe a blow-torch on a low setting.

So hot is as definitve as its going to get in this weather  8)

I do not employ 4 other people and Have not been to our unit to check other equipment yet, I take 1 van to and from our unit and my house, that is still frozen, even with the heater!!!

Well nothing froze in my room so I imagine yours will be fine as you have insulation.

I went out around midday in the end and started work a bit before 1.  So I got over 3 hours in.  The temperature hovered between 0 and +1.  I worked with a very low flow rate to minimize water on paths.  I used rock salt where I assessed there could be a risk if/when it would freeze tonight.  I drained van pipes and took equipment inside last night.  I was able to use the van mount.  I took a backpack out with me.  I also took a plastic jug in case I needed to get some water from the tank to the backpack.  As it happens, the pump was OK anyway.
All the faffing around slowed me down and I wasn't exactly on my best paid work.  I managed to get through £84 worth of work so I regard that as being worth it.  Not great, but considering that I was up against it I reckon I did OK.
