if the glue does go - you will notice before hand little bits of dry glue coming from one of the clamps.

mine was fine for a month then the glue problems started

dont overtighten the clamps ! being made of plastic the barrel nut will get stripped of its thread. Gardiners did send me out spares free of charge on request when this happened but its still an inconvenience when it happens.
As for the glue, same issues here too, my tool kit always has some araldite in it now and gaffa tape when the inevitable happens  ::)

The clamps should be set to just nip up. When set correctly, they should open & close easily. ;)

I have been using "serious glue" £4.99 from B and Q.  Easy to use.

First time lasted a day but then I "scratched" the pole up a bit and it lasted about 10 days. Done the same again and now still ok after about another 2 weeks.  It is the middle clamp that comes unstuck on mine...

I rang Gardiners and they sent me some 2 part araldite stuff but you need a very small  mastic type gun to use it and the instructions are in such small writing I couldn't read them, as I didn't have a magnifying glass.

I am 52.

The only glue you will ever need for your clamps is this stuff, see below;

Gorilla Glue absolutely superb put it on for around 24 hours to let it dry.

Can't go wrong.

regards.

I've got an 18' and have no problems at all. Never had a problem with any Gardiner's Products ever.

epoxy glue fill fix anything if needed. Sets so hard you can sand it to a finish!!
