Hi,

I have in past put two  adds on Gumtree or a part time canvasser  to call on local houses & ask if they would like a quote from a local window cleaner  (me). The first time I received about 40 replies but I dismissed them all as they were all from foreigners. The reason for this is that I considered an English person would be better received & understood by a householder.

The second add said would suit English person, but again only foreigners replied.

I am about to put another add out & this time I will gladly take on a foreigner as long as their English is good.

Why not try an ad in your local rag? I think gumtree is largely used by foreigners anyway, looking for flat shares, or work etc. I do not know anyone of my english mates who uses it,, But my girlfriend who is a kiwi, her mates seem to look in it for stuff like that (that's in London though).

i advertised on gumtree  got a load of indians needing a job to come here  3 english people, 1 bloke who lasted 1 day,  1 16 kid, who could only do his area, (not too bad) and a girl who never got back to me,
