Hi dazmond would it be possible for you to email me your email, mine is in my profile. I would like some advice from someone who has recently started up and gone through the teething problems.

Thanks

Lee

Hi lee sorry to intrude but for a new started you seem pretty clued up its my 2nd year with the pole are you having problems like little beads and things like that on certain windows?

basically my view on this when a customer asks is yes you may see one window not perfect as the others reasons will be blown rubbers (around the windows) bad paint work, vent dripping etc etc

ultimately if you were a ladder guy before you may be frustrated that some of your good customers windows that you used to clean perfectly are not and maybe never will turn up like it did before.

All i did was explain about health and safety some do say can you ladder my house? cos they prefer it and, hey maybe you cant beat someone manually cleaning the window cos he can see the end result and correct it but i explain how hard it can be for them to find a ladder guy cos alot are going wfp

Have you lost any work on your 1st clean m8t?

yeah, spotting and a few runs, i've tried different ways of doing the windows, they have 1 opener, tried cleaning above, just to top of glass ect, still a few runs, its doing my head in. I know dazmond started 6 months ago, so it will all be fresh in his head and probably still learning to a certain degree, i know its down to technique, but if someone can point me in the right directoin, it will make my life easier.

I have spent alot of time on here using the search facility, so really im a bit of a text book wfp'er, i am commfortable using it have been using it for 6-8 weeks and first cleans have been no problem what so ever, but after doing some second cleans, im just not happy with the results.

HI LEE just stick at it mate!it ll get better and better!sometimes it takes a few more cleans to come right!by the time your on to your 3rd and 4th cleans wfp most problems will have disappeared!!trust me mate!!.

i still get the odd run and faint spotting on some windows from time to time but i also get the odd kick/drag lines from the squeegee when doing trad!no method is perfect!

make sure the frames/glass are really scrubbed clean and rinse about an inch from the top of the glass.be careful with windows with 2 top openers and try not to get any water in the gap between them or else they will run down the window when you ve gone ruining the pane underneath!!this was a very common problem during my first few months!!

careful with old wooden frames.i avoid cleaning any of the top frames if poss and make sure you dont splash it when rinsing the pane underneath.

double rinse the windows on second/third cleans and blade any ground floor windows if you think they will spot.be careful of oxidised frames!either really scrub them hard or leave them well alone!if their ali oxidised frames then trad is the only way theyll come up good IMO.

hope this helps pal

regards

also i only lost 3 custies as a direct result of them not liking the pole but ive gained a lot more in 6 months BECAUSE i use the pole!! ;D ;D ;D.

thankfully my custies gave me a few chances to get it right as ive been cleaning a lot of them for years!tell them if their not happy with the windows you ll come back and re clean for free as long as its within 48 hours of the clean!!

the quality of the window clean i give my custies is so much better than when i was trad in 95% of cases due to cleaning frames etc(on all plastic windows anyway!).

I have one window on a house that has took 7 months for it to dry perfect (without me scrimming it) Some window rubbers will just hold all that naughty washing up liquid!!!!!
Stick with it mate!!! ;)
