Hi all,

Just shortlisting a new vehicle for work. Have decided on a Porsche Cayenne.  With the rear seats folded my flat tank fits pefectly with room for all the other bits too, and its under payload.

Not sure about getting getting it sign written yet but do you think this will impress my customers

what you want is a clean and tidy van thats not too flashy and new but not a total rust bucket either!!


i have a 10 year old kangoo but its in good nick and is signed and i keep it clean and tidy.turning up to work esp domestics in flash cars is a big no no IMO.NOT THAT I COULD AFFORD A FLASH CAR MIND!! :

Impress your customers? I doubt it very much. How could such a thoroughly inappropriate vehicle impress them?

Its the standard of work you produce that will impress them not look like something out of wacky races.

From a business view point what are these cars 60k?

Well that's probably more than your annual tunover, working out of that you couldn't hit it even if you had the work, so most probably customers would be puzzled.They might think you had a better business and the wcing was a front.

forgot to say that i dont actually clean myself, i have staff.

but would still knock on a door to collect or go quote a new job in it, its only a car!

Hmmm, interesting way of doing it.
I have a van and don`t clean but all my staff have Ferraris. 
It`s good to hear other methods though.

if your serious then is it coz u want it for dual purposes - ie work and leisure??

seems a wicked waste of money if its just for work when you could go for top of the range oick up truck if you wanted something other than a van - as its classed as commercial it would be miles cheaper on every level than a cayenne.

mits have recently launced a v6 or v8 that boasts shed loads of toys and power

These obsessions of ours are expensive white elephants sometimes aren't they easy clean? 12 plugs in my Merlin Spitfire Engine and an oil change and I need to work for a week to pay the technician!

You could buy a good secondhand Aston for that and have a real car. Porsches are for hairdressers, oh yeah and forum moderators.

360 modena is nice motor - paddle shift gearbox and all that .   Not quite on the same level but i am a big fan of fast fords.  Like Focus RS old shape one.
