Not very nice but ..............

I suppose somebody has to do it.

Took a phone call from a private landlord today who said he had a flat that needed cleaning today before he went on holiday. He said it was a mess, full of beer bottles etc and that he had organised a rubbish removal company to clear it out so we could clean it.

We had some spare capacity this afternoon and it also had potential for further work with his portfolio so I agreed to send a team and meet up with the landlord at the property to get payment.

What he had neglected to mention was that the tenant had literally drunk himself to death in the flat. As a monthly paying tenant it was some time before he went in to arrears with his rent. His mobile remained unanswered so the landlord's wife paid a visit but got a rather pungent odour! She called her husband landlord who arrived and then called the police.

The police broke the door down and found the body and after satisfying themselves that nothing untoward had happened, removed the body.

So then it was over to us and the rubbish men. I don't think I have ever seen so many empty beer bottles of all shapes and sizes in the one place.

One of the worst I think I have seen.

It has been one hell of a training experience for our new boy!

The landlord paid up without even flinching at being charge almot 3 times the normal rate for a property like this. And I still reckon he got a bargain.
