« on: October 19, 2010, 01:28:47 pm »
van heater's - I know some use fan heaters oil rad's but if you have to park on street like i do then these are the daddy's -  gav ccc been on my case  to post my van heater that was used last year to keep the van toasty so here's the link

http://www.bluebird-type2.co.uk/heat.htm

Propex heatsource 2000 standard one £425
ive no connection to bluebird , just they was the cheapest last year ....  :D

they was cheaper last year but the bad last winter probley has driven up the price , but if you ebay them or google there are lots around cheaper .

easy install - just two 1inch holes in floor for air and exhaust . set the temp controller and leave to tick over in the night . ( they have a quite V8 sound burble which is cool !! )

good bit of kit .

easy to remove for new van like im doing at min .

Is emptying the tank and the pipes each night still going to cause problems in terms of equipment freezing / causing damage. Or is this for in case you get up one morning and have no water as its all frozen?? cheers

yes why drain all the system ??

just stick the stat on say 5.c and the heater will keep your van at 5.C - you wont even have to defrost the windscreen  ;)
last winter i used only one 25kg propain - thats turning it on at 6 pm to 8am every night that it was cold ( about four months if i remember !! )

no condensation in my van last year - BUT , i  plylined it and stuck rockrool all behind the panels , i think you may get running walls if just metal showing , bit like a single glazed window with the heating on .
