Hi all

Got a quote to do, mainly carpet but also a large area of this stuff. Its a vinyl material with raised discs all over it, these are about the size of a 10p piece. All the dirt gathers around the discs as you can imagine.

I've got a cimex rotary and a oreck bonnet buffer, I think it might prove a real stubborn so and so and wondered if anyone had got any good tips for technique, equipment and chems. Its about 100 sq mtr.

Picture taken google looks very similar stuff except the one I'm quoting for is blue (shame its not black )

 Looks like Altro mondopave flooring. It's only a rubber flooring. I tend you use altro 44 cleaning sloution on these but you can use any neutral cleaner on it. Can be sealed as well so check as you may need to strip it first.

Your cimex is perfect fot this job put a solution of Champion in your tank, itwill get into every little edge.
then i guess a simple case of mopping with clean water.

Out of interest Paul, what encap are you now using in your cimex.

I have a guy working out a price for relesit for me from usa , doesnt have to be a vast amount either

Cimex perfect or sebo, I would mop on a degreaser first and let it bite in then get on the floor with IMO the Cimex but you'll need a wet pick up.

It's very easy to clean, usually it has lost his shine and you can add one but I wouldn't recommend it.

Rubber stud tiles, manufactured by a lot of different people (not only altro) Altro is a brand name and just one of the many manufacturers of flooring produsts.  This product is resistant to most chemicals. In a lot of cases this product is specified bacause of its non slip qualities, so depending on the instalation criteria you need to be careful that any seals or finishes do not inhibit the slip resistant quality of the flooring. Because of the studs a brush scrubber is more effective than a pad. Flooring manufacturers will be able to give you a care of product sheet. contact Polyflor (halsteads), Marley or altro.
Talk to a local janitorial supplier to find somebody who can recommend suitable products that will give you the results that you want on this specific product. ( if they do not understand "rubber stud tile" do not ask anymore questions).

Paul i have cleaned these tiles they are normally 500mm x500mm i used citra concentrate works well on this stuff agree with all posts above rotary with poly prop scrub brush wet vac pick up they do look dull and loose there shine.

So do you mean cleaning this altro type floor can cause it to dull ?

Geoff - I'm doing ok mate hope your doing well yourself. I'm keeping myself busy with DIY projects for the crumbling house we bought this year, as for encap products I'm still using prochem procaps but I'm not overly impressed, it doesn't foam up much at all. Let me know how you go on with releasit I'd love to try the stuff - I gave Mike an address a while ago for a supplier of releasit in France, don't know if he made contact give him a nudge.

Shaun - Went to look today, just put the quote together, this floor was part of it. I'll let you know if I get the job, he said he had another couple of companies going in tomorrow to quote. A bit of confusion when I arrived, I think he thinks I work for you !

This is not an altro type floor " altro " is a manufacturer who make - nonslip, pure vinyl, rubber stud tile, linolium, marmolium and various types of flooring.

Paul to anwser your question like most things that are new they are shiny and bright in time they fade and become dull this is not noticed because the surface is dirty until you clean it then they notice
