50litre Purefreedom Trolley
« on: August 30, 2010, 02:34:01 pm »
Just got trolley (2nd hand)and used first time on my own house.Never used one before but found it to be coughing and spluttering abit.Wondering if its something to do with the hose attattched to the trolley being twisted and not allowing water to come through smoothly enough.Only four months old so pump, flowmetre and battery should be fine any ideas would be welcomed.

sucking air before the pump. If it has a strainer/filter then that's worth a check.

It can only be twisted pipe or air intake!

Is it also normal for one container to empty before the other?I thought water would have been drawn equally from both containers.

Yes good point, i thought they would extract water equally from each barrel, as the whole point is not to exchange one of them once 25 litres is used.

I have had the 25 litre trolley for nearly 2 years now and had no probs, and thats heavy enough to lug around never mind the 50 litre job. :-\

mate its nothing major, like all trolleys a few things to think about when using:

never let the water containers run bone dry - will cause it to suck in air = airlock = the 'coughing & spluttering'

every now and then it will get air in the hose, pipes .... just unplug the hose reel and turn up the flow to flush out the airlock.

i use an xline trolley and i have changed all the hose parts on it to clear hose so i know about any airlocks i get ....
