I think you have all missed the big answer. Ask the question again in another four to five months when your pipes are freezing and your brush has set solid.

It is an advantage,.. but not the ultimate solution.
While I did work a few days last winter where I wouldn't have been able to without heat,.. there is always the problem of water freezing on the ground. Putting salt down slowed me down, & I had to be careful what jobs I picked,.. but at least I earned something!

Hot water cleans better than cold. You might not need it to clean but prefer it.
If you use cold then ok but why do you have question hot water users?

Thing is, a £12 aquarium heater off e-bay will keep you working for a fraction of the price, so cant really justify having a hot water system just for working when its freezing.

Yes, but detergent with hot water cleans better than hot water alone. So why don’t you use a detergent for maintenance cleans?

Maybe it’s because it doesn’t need.

You see the point I’m making, the original question is about your using heated water for maintenance cleans, why?

Some say with hot they work quicker and the windows dry quicker but you disagree; fair enough.
But are you now asking why not add detergent to hot water to be quicker still?             Perhaps you should have included that in the title, if you wanted a better response to that bit. It maybe to do with the extra rinsing required but I can`t answer that.

As for the colder days of the year having a system that prevents freezing is good, but that has nothing to do with cleaning the windows, just keeping the wfp system working.

It has everything to do with the OP, if you re-read it it says is hot better, if it keeps the sytem working in cold weather then yes of course its better. You are a box of frogs pal.

bit irrelevant anyway isnt it..i mean i could be wrong but doesnt
hot water freeze quicker than cold something to do with supercooling
of the molecules or something.

if true your system would be lovely and hot but wouldnt it
be a total waste of time by the time it hits the glass ???

In some specific conditions hot will freeze quicker,.. these conditions aren't found in window cleaning.

did a bit of googling and apparently because of the supercooling
when the water hits freezing air it can freeze almost instantly

why wouldnt that happen in window cleaning ??? not trying
to be a pain just curious :)

Using the system on the few days of the year when it’s to cold to clean, is not what the thread is about.

Apart from Nathanael mentioning it’s good to get rid of cobwebs & spider’s nest, which you can still do with a cold system. Are there no other reasons to use heated system on regular window clean?

mind your business im asking a question! ;D ;D

I don't know what all the fuss is about.

Safe to say that hot water is no better than cold water for cleaning windows, due to the fact that as soon as hot water hits cold air it becomes cold anyway.

And as far as I am concerned hot water systems are less fuel efficient and so it makes them less environmentally friendly. :-\

Warm water claens better , its a fact.

but i dont need it to make windows cleaner.

From a squeegie,  to a pole spirting pure water...

Thats good enough for me !

Stop bloody complicating things.

I thought the external temp had to be below -20 and the water in a very tall thin container?

All I can say is that in my experience the water has never flash frozen on me!!

Fuel efficiency is something to think on,.. you do burn more fuel, but personally I find I complete more work,.. does that even things out?

As for the hot water getting cold as soon as it hits the air,.. thats just rubbish because I can see the steam on the windows, so the glass is defo getting warm!!
