I would be interested to know the amount of water you use a day before the aqua dapter, and then in a month using it.

Could you post this now and in a month ?

I would say its about 50-70 litres a day, but as i said it just seems to make the job feel easier some how
The best way to predict the future is to create it.

Do you happen to know what the PSI rating is on that hose? I run a RO/DI system where the pump works at 150PSI and if I leave the shut off valve open and just use the Aqua-dapter it can cause some hose swelling. If I could find hose at a rating above 150PSI it would take that issue out if the equation.

It depends on your idea of 'pricey'.

We are not the cheapest solution, and we don't claim to be. There are plenty of other flow solutions out there that are a lot cheaper, there's even the free method of kinking your hose, but none of them offer the simplicity and give you the productivity that Aqua-dapter offers.

Our equipment has been CAD designed and tested, engineered and subjected to phsyical tests and re-engineered when it does not perform. We've spent nearly two years in the development of this product, bringing it to the standard of what it is now. And we will continue developing it into an even higher quality product.

From a construction point of view, the Aqua-dapter is made from a lightweight aluminium chassis, with stainless steel and wax filled injection molded nylon parts. This wax filled engineering grade plastic self lubricates to keep friction down to a minimum.

You will also appreciate that a tap that works without the common niggles and headaches other methods of flow control have will save time. A correctly controllable tap will also save your water, which in turn will leave you with more in your tank, so you can become more productive throughout the day. More water throughout the day means more jobs within a day, which means it's more of an investment than a cost.

Unfortunately PVC hose will not give you the necessary performance to use Aqua-dapter. We supply our own sourced and adapted Polyurethane hose based on the same hoses used in pnuematic applications. However we use a polyether compound to make the hose completely waterproof.

Our hose, yet extremely flexible, is very strong, and unlike PVC, it doesn't react to heat, in which case it won't soften and stretch. It also reacts far better in cold weather, and will not go hard and crack. Also, whereas PVC is watertight, it will eventually degrade from contact with water. Our hose carries a three year guarantee.

Duncan

Tony, the hose that we are currently using is rated at 233 PSI with water at 20 degrees c. The hose you have is a different type that we sent out with samples to the USA. I will arrange to get some of the hose we are using now over to you.

Duncan

Mine went out 1 day.

Broken.

Pipe falls out the bottom of it.

Modified it slightly to fix problem (modified hose that is).

We run 2 poles, have found very little saving in water due to the fact when you turn 1 pole off the other gets more water through it.

Like the idea though.............

Hi,

We'd be interested to know exactly which bit is 'broken'. Is the actual Aqua-dapter physically damaged? Do you mean the tube attached directly to the tap component?

Or do you mean the hose comes away when you pull it?

If so, which bit detaches? Does the push fitting come off the unit, or does the hose come out of the push fitting?

Did you insert the tube strengthener into the connecting end of the hose before inserting it into the push fitting?

This is the first report we've had of the hose coming off, so we'd be very keen to examine how it's happening and why. You can rest assured if there is a fault, we will replace your Aqua-dapter.

Kind regards,
Duncan

Recieved mine a couple of days ago and so far so good, if it lasts a couple of years it will be a great investment as it saves water and time and easy to fit and use. I would like to wish the manufactures  every success with it and  I hope they come up with a few more inventions

Hi poole bay,

Perhaps others who're using Aqua-dapters on these forums will tell you how they've connected it on their setups.

The hose is 8mm outside diameter, 5mm inside diameter.  A fitting that pushes into the end of the hose and is secured with an 'O' ring (such as a microbore 6mm barbed hose tail fitting) should be fine.  If you use a connector like this you may find it easier to fit if you warm up the end of the hose with some hot water.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Paul

The hose pops out. Fitted a stiffer pipe which then joins to an ordinary rubber hose works fine now.

Just in case people don't read the other thread...

The hose pops out.
A tube strengthening hard plastic insert is supplied with each hose to make it impossible to collapse the tube when the insert is inside it (well maybe with a pair of pliers ;)).

The insert should be pushed into the end of the hose before the hose is pushed into the connector, this then has the same effect as using a stiffer pipe.

We tested the hose up to 15kgf (the unit only requires 3kgf to operate).

Glad you fixed it anyway :)
