Just for fun!
« on: August 14, 2010, 05:56:56 pm »
A job I done a few months ago. There were no marks on the carpet, I pre sprayed with pure clean and went to set up my equipment. I returned to agitate the pre spray and there was a pink coloured looking stain on the carpet.

Can you guess what caused it ?

No I dont know what has caused it, more importantly will it go away when the carpets are dry if it cannot be removed?

I'd say light refraction off something
If it's not then it reminds me of a job years ago. White carpet in a bedroom which didn't look too bad until I pre-sprayed it, because with that blue spots started appearing all over the carpet. I could have curled up and died as more and more blue spots appeared with every second.
It took a while but then it dawned on me what had happened......

when I saw the blue marker pens.....

some kid had stabbed the carpet over and over with a marker pen, no evidence on the surface but add moisture and the blue ink wicked up to the surface >:(

Doug and Neil got it.  ;)

Here was the culprit. It was one of those moments when you say "Oh st1t what have I done". I was down on hand and knees with my spotting kit at the ready. ;D

Here's a word of warning.
Leaving glass objects which pick up the light and divert it onto one spot could cause burns.
I saw pictures of a leather sofa a few weeks back which had strange marks on it. I think we agreed in the end it was sunlight reflecting off a chandalier (I think) constantly onto the same spot on the sofa.

Hi Neil

I seen one a few weeks ago that the customer had one of those reading magnifying glasses on a stand, It actually burned a hole in the arm of her leather suite. She was lucky it didn't catch fire.

Something happened to me which should be a word of warning to anyone using and Envirodri. i did pure white bedroom carpet presprayed no problem with Nenesis, got the Envirodri on it as soon as i turned the machine on i notice lot of black marks appear all over the carpet, after a minute of thinking omg i realised that due to the perfect white colour of the carpet dirty water was flying off the gen 4 and going on the carpet never noticed it on other carpets but they really stood out on this, when i got home i soaked all my brushes to clean them :P
