speeding up with WFP
« on: August 12, 2010, 10:51:51 pm »
ive got round to most second cleans on my round using WFP.im finding im quicker on bigger jobs but on run of the mill compact work im about the same as trad or even a little slower as ive been wfpoling some connies and downstairs windows that i did trad last month.

how long did it take you guys to really get into your stride with wfp?ive not really found the best economical way to approach each job yet as im still re learning my round.im noticing that some of the windows i cleaned wfp last month were still pretty clean as well!!

im sure in another 4 months ill be quicker and if i get a clx or slx  ill be able to use it for downstairs work as im swapping to my short pole as the hydra 25 footer gets heavy after a while doing downstairs windows!the closed length is just over 6ft! ::)

I think it took me about four cleans to really speed up and even after that, with little tweaks, learning to trust it more, and investing in better tools, the process seemed ongoing.  Even recently I have found ways of saving two or three minutes on some types of job.  Not so much with the actual cleaning but some of the other stuff.  However, some of the speeding up does require a decent flow rate so your trolley may not be ideal for some of the tweaks.

prowindow an 18 ft pole is too short for reaching over flat roofs/kitchen extensions and 2nd storey windows and i need the extra length every couple of houses on my 160 very compact houses.

im going to order the 22 clx as that will be long enough for a lot of my regular run of the mill work and i can use it for most downstairs work due to short collapsed length.the 25ft hydra will do for 2nd storey/large extensions and bigger houses and my short pole will be good for tight spaces/bungalows etc.

i think i need to use just one pole for upstairs and down on regular work instead of messing about with swapping poles, long enough for reaching over connies/flat roofs and light, rigid to reduce the strain on my shoulders/upper arms!! ;) ;D ;D

Good call daz only having just 1 pole m8
Get the clx 27.won't cost you much more and you could easily take a section out.

ive ordered the 22ft clee as its in stock and the closed length is 4ft 9in!

22ft CLX     MAIN POLE

25FT HYDRA   BIGGER HOUSES AND SECOND FLOOR WINDOWS

SHORT POLE  FOR TIGHT SPACES/BUNGALOWS

20FT FIBREGLASS   EMERGENCY SPARE POLE

30 FT UNGER  FOR HIGH 2ND STOREY OR EVEN LOW 3RD FLOOR WINDOWS

unger pole can also be converted into a traditional extension pole for the odd job as well as a conservatory roof/fascia/gutter pole with a different brush on the end. ;) ;D ;D

i would agree with ewan. also speed comes when you know the window will be just as clean with 1 brushing movement overlaped across the glass, compared with scrub scrub scrub rinse rinse rinse.

normally faster the flow faster the clean. this has to be balanced with how much water you carry for the day.

i'm sure you'll get faster dazmzond
