off to an adventure park with the kids in a bit, only one job which is done now and made sure nothing else was booked for the rest of the day. self employment rocks.

i would say, if youve got the money, treat yourself to a new and better set up, something to relight your fire. think of it as a new venture.

Do any of you long established guys get a bit bored of this trade?
Today I had an old lady explaining the in's and out's of where and when she bought her carpet after I commented on it being good quality. When she was explaining this to me, I felt sooooo bored I had the overwhelming urge to lay on the bl**y thing and go to sleep!
The next job was two large communal blocks. After setting up all the gear at the first block I sat on the first step with my head in my hands. Again, that feeling of I can’t find the energy or enthusiasm for this lot.

Maybe it's time to move on when you feel like this. I might do a college course in September to give my life a bit of diversity.

Regards
Pete

"i would say, if youve got the money, treat yourself to a new and better set up, something to relight your fire. think of it as a new venture."

 ;D That`s exactly what I`v done.
Been spending FAR to much time on another venture and found it hard to get into the C/C
I could see it all falling apart, so a serious word with myself was required.
Other ventures been put on the backburner.
Made a call to Matt and got him to send up an Airflex Turbo. Delighted with it.
Been using it for three days now and starting to enjoy the work again, I feel really fired up and getting on with everything I know I have too do. Like Derek said I`m looking at it like a new venture and cut out my lazy bad habits.
I`ll report back on the Airflex later when it`s done more work. So far Looooookin Gooooooood.

Hi Guys

My website stuff and being Secretary of a City of London Lodge keeps me on my toes but most of the time I spend cleaning carpets and it surprises me I don't get too bored.

Cleaning leather does my head in and commercial where I have been before can also be excruciating but all in all not too bad a job!

Cheers

Doug

I find carpet cleaning theraputic, it's like when you have been running for 10 minutes and your in the zone LOL, I like talking to custys too but sometimes I want to tell them to bog off and leave me to focus.

I only wish there was a majic hose that didn't need moving around and can grow a couple of foot when you just can't reach.  ;D
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.
