Got my new machine a couple of weeks ago a 600psi Airflex Turbo did first carpet with it and my back and shoulder was aching next day the wand just stuck to the carpet, unable to push it could only pull, so i though this is why they have wands with glides, its definately a step up from the Ninja i have.
So called Cleansmart ordered a glide when it arrived i used it on our through lounge used it without on the first half and with on the second have to say it was much easier and left carpet dryer too

Sounds good - assuming your Airflex has adjustable pressure, you might not need / want to use all 600psi on every job. Especially domestic carpets, doubt you'd need to use that much pressure.

David, you are correct - you dont need 600psi to clean a carpet, mostly I keep at 400 but could easily do the job at 300.  Use the Rotovac 360i and you can go really low - 200psi or maybe even less.
The wand "sticking" to the carpet though is not caused by the solution pressure, as you probably know.

I have never used it at 600 psi the highest i have been was 400psi.
although i thought with the glide i could give my stone floor in my kitchen a go put some powerburst down very strong mix and turned it up to 600.
wow  what a good job it did it's only evr had a mop across it in ten years

We run glides on both our wands, Wouldnt be without them now, Makes working a breeze and we also benifited with quicker drying times , It looks like glides are a contraversal subject

They are not plastic of course, but are expensive.
However, if you look after it then it should last.
Just need to keep away from grippers protruding up at the edges of a carpet.

Im onto my second glide as the 1st one started to affect the suction quality due to damage.So take care of it as they are expensive to replace.

some of you must be nuts, 350 psi is the most i generally use and what price a bad back against £100 for a glide?  i think without glides i would have packed it in at least 5 years ago,

Glides can be wand specific so be careful when buying on.

They are teflon, so slippy (they glide over the carpet)

Can get them with holes, or slots, or a combination of holes and slots.

I prefer the slots only, but each to there own.
