i dont have the diesel version but in my opinion it is the poles that are the problem, if you dont get the angle perfect then the suction is useless and leaves lots of water on the glass also they are fitted with pencil jets so the water doesnt touch all the glass before being sucked up and therefore doesnt clean properly my  40ft pole alone cost £2000 and in my opinion was a total waste of money, i still use it occasionally on the occasional high internal glass where they wont allow me to use ladders but i pad the glass up first with another pole and an applicator and then go over them with the pro 10 pole and i also inform them that the results wont be perfect, another problem with using this method is the sills cant be cleaned with it as the head is fixed and cant be adjusted.

Thanks very much for the detailed info, I assume you have the blue electric one. I had one about 7 years ago and to be honest it wasn't very good, as you say the poles are expensive and not really up to the job. I just wondered if the diesel one was any better , and would have hoped that the poles were improved by now.
I am hoping they would be good enough to clean for instance the underside of a glass roof at about 5 metres height.
As anyone tried this?
No point asking the manufacturer as even with a demo - which anyone can do for a few minutes and get good enough results, I need to know what it is like using it for a whole day etc

Perhaps with a bit of research and development something like the pro-10 and perhaps better poles than are currently used, would be a great piece of kit to have, don't you think?
Obviously R&D costs money, as well as advertising etc etc
Perhaps that's why some manufacturers systems cost more than others, as they are looking at long term viability rather than just making a quick buck and dissapearing.

From what I've read most of the folks here are tired of the Ionics sales pitches posing as legitimate posts. If you want an end user testimonial why not e-mail the customer list you no doubt have on file?

As I mentioned I am interested in what users of the equipment think about it, as I am considering buying one.

Well what you waiting for then? Just go buy one, doesn't matter if it's useless as your money will be well invested in Ionic's R&D department.

They have basically marketed a pretty useless piece of DIY kit for silly money! Get clued up man!

From what I've read on them they're crap. As trevor said- they're not really up to the job & have many limitations. There was a guy on here last year who had leased one & was desperately trying to sell the lease. Although he couldn't say it, it was clear what the situation was! He'd also been conned by Ionics!

No disrespect to anyone but IMO Ionic owners are more to be pitied than anything else. Of course they will defend their investment by any means possible but those in the know wouldn't touch them unless you are a company of considerable size!
