My IBC was previously used to hold bleach.

Now I know that I'm producing 000 TDS as I've checked it, but water that comes out of the tank was around 078.
I've blasted the inside with a hose for a bit and it's now reading 051.
Is there a good way to do it or do I have to keep on the same way...?

If you have a swimming pool supply shop near you try and get some sodium thiosulphate ( you will only need a cup full) this comes in the form of large granules which dissolve and will neutralise the sodium hypochlorite (bleach) that is clinging to the inside walls of the ibc tank. Then rinse the whole lot out, this should do it!

Cheers Tony, not sure there is anywhere like that around, but RZ said something about a neutraliser, so maybe that's what he meant...

Sounds like you may have hassle getting the bleach off.

I would bin it and go round some farms and get another one. Thats where I got mine from.

They dont store any chemicals in them so they are ready to use after a quick wash.

Now I've got another problem. Can't get a good connection to the tap.
Jubilee clips don't seem to stop it spraying out.

rog, just fill it pump water out and clean more, if you want to be anal, use ro water to pressure wash it.

I cleaned 4 ibc's out a few months back doing it this way, I fill one with ro only water then pressure washed the rest out with it, let all water out after and all water is 000. I am guessing your using a hand held and start and end and not a fixed tds meter ?

Yes I'm rinsing it out with the tap open, then closing the tap, putting a bit of pure in and then getting some from the tap after a few minutes.

That's what I've tried, but that won't stay on the tap either. It's a funny shape.

RO connector on the right. Jubilee clip broke, so been connecting it to the hoselock tap fitting.
But that's not too snug either, Which is annoying, as it was 7 quid!

dont they greatly reduce flow roy? sure i read they did and were not suitable for ro use because of this
