Sounds OK but I think I will wait and see how it goes.

I joined the British carpet cleaners association instead. More transparent , and less hassle and messing about.

This is a quote from the website , how much more straightforward can it be?

Hello and welcome to the British Carpet Cleaner's Association.

Why a new asscoiation?
We have found the NCCA to be very rigid in their thinking, expensive and not many carpet cleaner's are or want to be involved with them. We are also aware that there is a another association called CLEAN starting out but that costs a considerably amount of money too.

The BCCA will have an annual fee to be registered but it will be very minimal.

Our website will give consumers a choice of our members when requiring carpet cleaning works carried out.

You will not have to go through any training course or exams, all that our association will require is your business details, proof of insurance and details of the equipment and training you have done, if any.

You will then be put into a catergory within our website of the level of experience you have obtained and the equipment you use.

All members will receive an annual association certificate, along with a membership card (to show customers), BCCA stickers for your vehicle or equipment, plus other incentives that we are working on.

We will post further information in due course, in the meantime please enjoy the forum (which will eventually be attached to our website)

Now I think about it its the name of the organization i joined 4 years ago on ebay.If this is new might have to speak to lawyers as i had liftime membership

I failed to understand refrence to Moderator

Due to the fact Mike , Doug and myself had joined in debate.

Only place i feel publising CLEAN may fall foul is they have a  Forum.

But its not as if lead members are pushing it

So in fairness i better mention NCCA

and ScCCF or whatever who I believe do not charge to join

If an organisation is free to join, what are they able to do without any form of income?

I thought you meant "sell your details" as in selling my details onto other commercial businesses for them to bombard me with there selling matter via post or email or text etc.  That is what I think is not allowed under the data protection act.

If the owners of this forum were to sell the forum for someone else to carry on in a similar manner and in accordance with the data protection act then I think that would be ok.

So what did YOU mean by "sell your details".??????????

Joe supprised you are not a member of S.C.S.F

It was started  several years ago by some members from The General Cleaning  Section

But also covers Carpet and Window Cleaning

They have negotiated discounts with some suppliers.
Have a Cleaning Firms Directory on Web

I believe they have beeb instumental  in getting one or two cleaning contracts

However I am sure Arthur who is one of the key players coud tell you more

Someone suggested to me when we first set up that if we charged a membership more people would be interested. Which might well be the case as a directory, referals and details of work all over the UK with no membership costs might seem strange to people, but that's what we do for free with no agendas  ;)

Then there's the trauma scence cleaning section which has got membership costs:

We get a mention in cleaning matters... http://www.cleaning-matters.co.uk/stories/articles/-/newsletters/2010/april/newly_formed_british_bio_recovery_association/
