Hello again,
For a basic 'start up' machine , i have heard some good reports about the Numatic

i guess you pro's with the truck mounts and £3000 latest models will laugh, but i need a cheap start up machine.

Im only going part time (eve and weekends) so dont need 3 jobs a day to pay a wage,

What im asking is can the Numatic range for say £500 with Prochem Chemicals provide good overall results

You'll last 10 minutes in this game unless you invest in the right equipment.... You can't go into this game with cheap and nasty equipment and expect to get a professional finish and expect to be paid for using equipment a custy could afford to hire/buy and use themselves....

Maybe you should look into LM cleaning, Jason Lawlal's your man.... He'll be along soon......

"Low Moisture." You'll need a rotary machine which will set you back at the same price if not less than the HWE machine you're looking at. (Hot Water Extraction).

Using pads and a solution, carpets are cleaned and left drier than if you used HWE. Usually used on low profile carpets, it is the method I have used on Belgium Wilton (Prone to shrinking!) carpets with great succuess....

VLM is Very Low Moisture using the granuals, they have their place in carpet cleaning and I have been happy, as have the customers, with results using both LM and VLM methods.

HWE is by far a deeper clean, but only if you use a machine with a minimum 100psi and twin vacs, some would argue 1 vac is enough

We have a CTD570-2. This was bought as a solution to our contract cleaning requirements before we got more seriously involved in Carpet Cleaning.

It is OK for spotting and occasionally cleaning smaller areas. It does leave carpets rather wetter than is ideal, regardless of the amount of dry passes.

We do still use this on some of our non-CC contract work where the customer just wants a quick once over and as long as quick drying isn't required then it is fine for that.

Plus points: small, convenient, easy to transport / handle / use, adequate on small jobs, fine as a spotter.

Negative: small (thus low capacity of both solution and waste), relies on heat from water supply,  messy / unhygienic to empty waste, low PSI on solution, leaves carpets a bit too wet, not a serious machine for a professional CC.
