Im using wfp system only but on the bottom 8 inches or so of the glass the dirt almost seems etched on
will this go with cleans or is it damaged
the same for the entrance which is a pitched glass roof got all the bird muck etc off but as soon as dry looks the same???

Best bet would be to use a bit of acid on the 1st clean
We just had the same problem with a job at heathrow

dip your brush in squeegee off or gg4 and rub into glass and then wash off,will soon remove it m8!

Can one use wire wool on pilkington active or will it take the coating off if there is one?

If you use acid or use wire wool on it, you will defo take the self cleaning coating off or effect it in a big way. I would try warm soapy water first. Is it dirt thats on the glass? What type of frames are the glass units in?

Im using water fed pole system, thats why im saying will it come better after more cleans?
Also client only picked me as i do not use any chemicals on site

metal frames why would this matter though??

The lower windows came up lovely its the 2nd floor windows and lean to entrance that are nasty.

looks almost scratched by the dirt could this mean that because of not cleaning for 8 years they they have lost their coatings??

I would of thought you would be ok to use a bit of squeegee off on the glass with some warm water.
The reason why i ask about the frames is that, i have cleaned ali frames in the past and have had rust spots that have in-grounded onto the glass. It normally comes from the non stainless screws that have been used to join some of the larger curtain walling together, and then bits run out of the drainage and stick to the glass. If the glass has not been cleaned for a long time, then it would have had enough time to stick/in-ground onto the glass and the coating. Hope that makes sense?

Probably not lost it's coating but this protective layer literally has to be treated with care.
So if it hasn't been cleaned for 8 years and someone comes along and rubs the dirt around with a brush then that could put scratches in the coating.
Of course there shouldn't be any dirt on there in the first place (ha ha) but you need a regular heavy rain to make the stuff work.

The lady is right. Had alot of this problem on public buildings over here. Only cleaned once a year. Not cleaned properly the last time etc. The glass with metal powder coated frames, when it gets that bad, it's usually too late. We've used Hydro acid on it, as this gets some result, but the effect only lasts a few weeks at the most.

It's down to negligence from the management. Nobody gives a toss about dirty windows untill they have to have the lights on during the day !

Good luck though mate. C4 explosives are the last resort.
