Whats the cheapest way of stopping a van tank system filling to stop it over flowing and flodding my van over night?

ive noticed you can get timers that you put onto the tap that will cut the flow off after a set time. its an idea aswell.

trouble is i have a flat tank, so with a ball cock, which are quite big, will mean that the tank wont fill all the way to the top.

You need one of these or one similar, it's mini float valve, that's what's on my tank with a hozelock male on the other side to fill through.

i wouldnt trust the timer method. too many varibles. weather and water pressure change the speed of production.
i now use a static tank and decant water into the van. it saves floods and running outof water

Thanks for the ideas, I think I will go for the one from sxrefix, it's cheap but yet at the same time extreamly chearful

I use an overflow outlet, when it gets to the level just goes dowm the drain.

Simplest, fool proof method.
pushfit elbow in the side of the tank with a length of plastic pipe through one of the plugs in the floor of your van. You can even put a tap fitting on it so you don,t slosh the water out when driving.

You mentioned overnight filling, does that mean you've got the RO or DI?

If so you either need a simple John guest floatvalve for a 300GPD RO that most suppliers do, or if you have a 4040 RO you need an electronic floatvalve and solenoid switch. Cheapest price for them is at purefreedom.

Mine's been in use for 6 years & it's never failed. I fill direct from tap & have very high mains pressure.

Just put a male hozelock on the outside of it & away you go.

I think he means he's filling it via the ro/di, not transferring it via a pump when its already pure there squeaks.
