It is more environmentally friendly tho, ladders are illegal and you wont get insurance if your using them. 12 months? I tell them the windows do come good but probably not in their lifetime.

1. No it does not take 12 months but can talk up to 3 cleans

2 . NO ladders are not illegal but under the Working at Height Regulations April of 2005// The use of ladders can be dangerous and it is wise to avoid using them on site if it is at all possible.

3 yes they can get insurance but because of the Working at Height Regulations April of 2005 which is Law, Insurance may not pay out if the client has not taken steps to insure a safer alternative making the claim null and void

4. Yes this is true as it is water and has no detergeants

A couple of window cleaners round my way have said there insurance premium has risen due to them using ladders.

I wonder if it really more environmentally friendly apart from the fact it wastes a whole lot of water just to produce enough to clean a house there are other factors as well such as

1. Pump using electricity
2. Booster pump if used also using electricity
3. Disposal of used resin
4. Heavier vehicle uses more fuel

And I am sure there must be more so I would personally doubt it is more environmentally friendly.

My insurance company AXA pulled the plug on my personal accident cover years ago. You used to be able to by units at £25 a unit, each unit you bought would give you £50 a week for up to a year in the event of an accident, so if you bought 4 units for £100, they would pay £200 a week for up to a year, they paid nothing for the first two weeks off though.
Do any insurance companies still cover window cleaners working off ladders for personal injury?
It would be interesting to hear of any.
